These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Homey website and mobile application (collectively, the "Homey Platforms") and the cleaning services offered through Homey (the "Services"). By booking a Service, creating an account, or otherwise using the Homey Platforms, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Homey Platforms.
Homey is based in, and operates from, the State of New York. For information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, please see our Privacy Policy.
Homey connects customers with cleaning professionals ("Cleaning Professionals") who provide residential and commercial cleaning services booked through the Homey Platforms. Cleaning Professionals may be employees of Homey or independent contractors engaged by Homey.
Homey uses trusted payment processors, including Stripe, PayPal, and Amazon Pay, to securely handle all billing transactions. Homey does not store your full card number on its own servers.
Payment is required at the time of booking in order to confirm your appointment. No cleaning service will be performed without prior payment. By booking a Service through our platform, you authorize Homey to charge the payment method on file for the full amount of the Service prior to your scheduled cleaning date.
Services must be paid in full before Homey will assign and book a cleaning team, and before any Services are delivered. Homey will not assign a team or dispatch Services for any booking with an outstanding balance.
Accepted payment methods include major credit and debit cards (processed securely through Stripe), PayPal, and Amazon Pay. If you pay with PayPal or Amazon Pay, you will be redirected to authorize the transaction on that provider's own platform, and that transaction will also be subject to PayPal's or Amazon's respective terms of use.
You are free to cancel or reschedule your service at any time. However, a $60 cancellation fee applies to any cancellation or rescheduling made less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time of your appointment. If you cancel or reschedule on the same calendar day as your scheduled appointment, you will be charged the full price of the Service instead. These fees will be charged to the payment method on file. Homey may, at its sole discretion, waive or reduce this fee on a case-by-case basis.
Valuables. Please safely secure heirlooms and collectibles before any cleaning. If your home contains fragile items, please note their location and care instructions in your account settings.
Large and Heavy Items. For safety and liability reasons, Homey Cleaning Professionals are not permitted to lift or move heavy items or furniture.
Homey Cleaning Professionals are committed to conducting themselves professionally in your home. In the event of accidental damage, please notify our office within 48 hours of the end of your cleaning appointment. We cannot guarantee reimbursement for damages reported more than 48 hours after the appointment.
Please ensure you are reachable so Homey or its representatives can assess and arrange any necessary repairs. Homey reserves the right to contract qualified professionals to carry out repairs and will make payment arrangements directly with those contractors.
Homey reserves the right to modify or withdraw promotional discounts at any time. We will always notify clients in advance of any such changes.
Homey stands behind its work with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not happy with your service, please let us know within 24 hours of the completed appointment, and we will make it right.
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable New York law, Homey disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Homey's total liability arising out of or relating to the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific Service giving rise to the claim. In no event will Homey be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these Terms limits Homey's liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under New York law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Homey, its officers, employees, and Cleaning Professionals from and against any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of New York, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are significant, we will notify you by email or through a notice on our platforms. Your continued use of the Homey Platforms after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Homey regarding the Services.
